It is often quoted as a reflection of the time in which it was written, and it has been used to attack almost every facet of the modern world, from the vaccine hysteria to the environment. Because of its popularity, it is a story that lends itself to a variety of different readings.The story opens with a man who owns a hospital. He is renowned for his work, which is research on different organs of the human body, but he doesn't like the attention that comes with this. He doesn't want to become the 'Old Man with a New Name' and is so worried about this that he quits. His former patients are traumatized by this, and become obsessed with the idea of becoming immortal.When they realize that they can only attain immortality through clinical research, they start working together. They form a secret society and begin to experiment. The patient known as 'The Creature' is a so ciopath and the strongest of them all. When the investigators realize they cannot control him, they decide to attack the creature head on.They are not aware that the creature they are attacking is actually their only means of survival. When the struggle takes place, the creature gains the upper hand and is able to defeat the investigators. The patients who survived the conflict suffer horrific injuries, and it becomes clear that the patients who cannot commit suicide have no chance of recovery. However, one of the surviving doctors gets his courage back and escapes his hiding place.He goes off into the Devil's Garden, but is quickly recaptured by the police. After being taken away in handcuffs, he finds himself in an isolation chamber. In here, he is forced to write a research paper, and that paper is the first ever use of the term 'Frankenstein'.Although he is traumatized by the events of the story, his work is resumed and he continues his clinical research, even though the real th reat has become much greater. Even though the society that was founded by his former patients has vanished, the scientist still carries on and continues to investigate.The Monster is now a respected figure in society, although he has no intention of leaving the place he once inhabited. He is convinced that the only way to defeat the enforcer who rules the world is through research, and he continues his studies. He finally finds something that he believes will defeat the enforcer and tries to infect himself with it. Unfortunately, it only makes him more isolated and desperate.
